Jean Gourmelin is 31 when Maximilien Vox, a publisher and artistic director for various reviews, entrusts him with ‘graphic reports’ and introduces him to the art of typography, Vox being a renowned specialist. Maximilien Vox devotes an entire article to Gourmelin in his review Caractères in 1963.
